Karen L. SchwartzKaren is our long-term tax season specialist in “assembling” tax returns – transforming piles of papers into nice, neat government filing copies, client copies, and file copies.  A graduate of Wall High School, Karen earned her LPN at Overlook Hospital and previously worked as a nurse.  Karen and Mariette became friends through their mutual love of Irish Setters.  Together they have bred several Championship winning litters and are frequent travel companions.  When not working, Karen spends as much time as possible with her four grandchildren.

Our Irish Setter Mascots...

Since Chuck was thirteen, there have always been AKC registered Irish Setters in the O’Malley family, but it was Mariette’s involvement as an owner and subsequently as a breeder that finally produced an O’Malley family owned Champion, eight of them to date plus others with points.  Mariette’s American and Canadian Champion Ramblin’ RedGypsy - Irish Setter mascot Fortune Teller, BISS, BIS, “Gypsy” to all who knew and loved her, was nationally ranked and is now a legend in the Irish Setter world.  A two time Irish Setter National Specialty winner, she was focused, embodied attitude, determination and drove herself to excellence.  “Gypsy” won seven Best in Shows, seventeen Irish Setter Specialties, ninety Sporting Group placements and over one hundred and fifty Best of Breeds.  In 1998, she was the number one Irish Setter and number four Sporting Dog in America.  She was the firm’s mascot until her death in 2007 at age thirteen.  A breeding partnership with the Kubacz and Schwartz families has provided succession planning.  Both of “Gypsy’s” children and several of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have acquired their championships and some have made it to the Sporting Group and Best in Show rings.  We are now planning for the fourth “Gypsy” generation.

Charles - Irish Setter office greeterChampion Ramblin’ Red Chernobog “Charles” (“Gypsy’s” only son) is now the official four-legged office greeter.  “Charles” was not campaigned as a breed dog; however, he has done well as a Junior Handler’s dog.  Due to his intense love for the show ring (in many ways he is just like “Gypsy”) he is now enjoying a veteran’s career, which has included Veteran Breed and Veteran Sporting Group wins.  Like “Gypsy”, “Charles” also has attitude, is driven, focused and determined.

“Gypsy” and “Charles” have been our mascots because they exemplify what three generations of O’Malley Family accountants, advisors, consultants and tax planners have been doing since 1945.  Like “Gypsy” and “Charles”, we are driven, focused and determined, and yes, we have attitude and it all goes to work for our clients.
